A variety of theatre productions take place on any given day, at a variety of venues and locations, by multiple groups and individuals, but its collective scale and impact remain unknown. However, this situation is slowly changing thanks to the constant data collection undertaken by The Kenya Theatre Awards Secretariat, which seeks to provide data for and to the industry so that it can improve and develop in a sustainable manner.
Based on data collected and analysed by The Kenya Theatre Awards, the free data available below features the most recent – and continuously updated – data records collected by the organisation. Industry practitioners are encouraged to provide the Awards with access to performances and submit production details that help to put together crucial statistics that will go a long way toward defining what makes up the industry.
